East, North and South Ayrshire Councils partner with Believ to install over 600 EV chargers at 300 locations. The Scottish Government's EV Infrastructure Fund provides £2.8 million, with Believ investing over £15 million. Chargers will cater to various needs, including standard plus and rapid charging speeds, across urban and rural areas. Each council area will have at least five accessible charging locations for drivers with mobility needs. The initiative aims to support net-zero ambitions and encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles.

Why it matters for your car

The rollout ensures drivers have convenient charging options, supporting the shift to electric vehicles.

For plug-in hybrids, AutoScan for Windows can read standard engine and emissions fault codes through a compatible ELM327 adapter; charging-system and high-voltage faults require vehicle-specific equipment.
